The Process
Creating a garden with Sanctuary Landscapes is a collaborative process. The start point for every Sanctuary design is the client. Are you a busy professional who wants somewhere to come home and relax with a glass of wine? Are you an avid plantsman whose idea of bliss is tending the herbaceous borders? Are you a big entertainer? Do you have a family comprising avid backyard footballers? Our aim is to always provide a garden that will suit your lifestyle… and your budget.
- Initial consultation
There is no charge for this meeting, it is your chance to meet with us to discuss what you want from your garden, how you will use it, how much time you have to tend it, what budget you have in mind and your likes and dislikes. It’s also an opportunity to see if you would like to work with us. At this meeting we will discuss ball-park budgets as it’s possible to give a clear indication of what is achievable with the pot available.
After this meeting we will send you a quote to create a design to fit your requirements.
- Draft plans
Once we have the go ahead, we will return to survey the site in order to prepare draft designs with sketches to help interpret the plans. We will then meet with you again to discuss our ideas. At this point you will have time to consider the ideas and give your feedback. Masterplans will then be prepared incorporating your feedback.
- Masterplans
We will return with the completed masterplan and estimates to complete the works. Estimates are itemised so that the costs of the different elements of the garden are clear. Any alterations to the masterplan on the basis of budget are then made at this point.
- The Build
Once the plans and the costs are finalised, Brent and his team of experts will come and create the garden. Once all the hard-landscaping is complete, one of our designers will return to create a planting plan. Some clients like to be involved at this point to ensure all their favourite plants are incorporated, others like to leave these choices in our hands. Once selected and costed, we return to plant up, bringing your new garden to life.
- Aftercare
We provide a full maintenance service if required. A garden is an ever-changing work of art and we are always on hand to assist with its further development as the years progress
